how do get the cruise control out of the sterring columb on a 91 chevy van?    ( un plug it from the turn signal switch)

Hello Don,This switch as you know is part of the turn signal lever which is pushed into the pivot. You can pull this straight out and the lever will be in your hand. The wire will still be attached and go into the column. Locate the wire at the base of the column and cut the end off it. Now attach a thin piece of wire to the wire that goes up the column, make sure that it doesn't fall off as you pull the wire up through the column. After you pull the wire up the column, remove it from the wire you put on. Now attach the wire you added and pulled up through to the new lever and pull that new switch wire down through the column. Sometimes this can be a problem. If so just run a new "fish line" wire down or up to attach to the new switch to get it up or down through the column.
