Hi, P1870 is a code the transmission sets because the pcm has seen it slip for longer than expected. Usually this happens when the torque converter locks up in overdrive and even though it is designed to have some "slip" built into it, It happens for longer than the pcm expects. After seeing this at least 2 to 3 times, it will set the code. You can probably disconnect the battery to clear p1870 to make it through inspection. As for Po449 is for an emissions part called a vent solenoid. This is under the car mounted with the evap canister. Alot of times it goes bad, It has a fuse that controls it that you can check. Its a 5 amp fuse located in the fuse block (fuse no.42). If the fuse is okay, further checking under the vehicle is next. If you want me to give you further instructions on checking it let me know. Thanks Eric

Okay, for the evay vent solenoid. Get a test light unplug the solenoid (its located under the car on the canister) it has two wires in the plug, one pink(12v) and one white. Put a test light between them and your test light will either flash or (pulse),stay on or not light at all. You may want to start it up and check it also. Its tougher without a scan tool, because you can commmand it on and off at will. But you try this method and let me know the results. On the P1870 code there is not much i can talk you through on that one. It ivolves more complex diagnosis to get the root cause of the code. Let me know what ya find. Thanks Eric
