1988 Chevy Celebrity.LOud noise coming from under the hood, stalling,restarts easy. One opinion is alternator. It stalls mostly when put into gear, I think the alt. would NOT be the cause of that because it starts right back up.The loud knocking noise sounds like it is coming from the alt.
Also 1996 Chevy Cavalier. While driving just shut down, will not restart,did not start when someone sprayed starter fluid in. Cranks good sounds like it's going to turn over then nothing.
