Today is Wednesday. On Monday, it was raining fairly heavily. When I was making a right turn, all of a sudden the car went completely dead. I could barely turn the steering wheel to get it out of the way of traffic. All the lights came on for a short time. I turned it off and on again, but it wouldn''t start. I was about to call AAA, but tried again and it started. I had no trouble making more turns on the way home. On Tuesday, it started up but the symbol for the battery came on the went off and it ran fine. I had it checked by local mechanics and they couldn''t find anything wrong with it, the battery is fine. The same thing happened this morning. Did something get wet? What needs to be done?

It sounds like your alternator may be going bad. When they start to go bad the will work intermintently and you can only find the problem, obviously when its defaulting. I would have the battery tested as well. If the battery checks out fine I would look into getting a new3 alternator just so you dont have to be left stranded to find out you need one.
