Sent to Chevy Experts December 18 07:55 PM

My check engine light came on and my OBD2 Reader diagnosed it as code P0014 wich shows as "B" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1). Is there anything I can do to repair this before having to take it into a shop. Your help is appreciated.

Joel:helllo and welcome. This is an 02 trailblazer with the 4.2l straight six cyl?
Customer (name blocked for privacy):It is a 04 colorado z71 4door 4x4
Joel:Sorry, let me put the this chat on hold while i pull up that vehicle.
Customer (name blocked for privacy):no problem
Joel:OK. There is actually a service bulletin for the can actuator solenoid either not having a screen on it, and the actuator solenoid gets contaminated with debre. Of it has a screen and it is covered with debre. Have also had a few on the older trucks leak oil into the wiring connector.
Customer (name blocked for privacy):So it might be just a matter of cleaning the actuator solenoid?
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Will this shut the vehicle down with consistence use without repair?
Joel:If the actuator has the screen then yes. If it does not, the solenoid will have to be replaced. It may cause a stall at idle, but not usually.
Joel:if there is oil in the wiring connector, it will have to be replaced.
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Thank you for your time. I surely appreciate it and Happy holidays
Joel:your very welcome. Happy holidays to you and your. Good luck with repairs. last thing, if less that 34k miles, still under warranty.
Joel:make that 36k miles.
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Little over 67k. and this has been the only problem. Tough little truck.
Joel:Ya, we have not seen too many problems. Good luck........
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Thank you.....
